Growing up

childhood day

While we were still kids, the world was a playground. What the world was to us was the information we got from our grand  parents, parents and older relatives. We believe everything we are told line, hook and sinker.
As an African questioning the authority of their words was a taboo and in many cases you get punished for daring to ask, nevertheless with our little inquisitive minds we still deem it fit to ask. After all we have this air of innocence around us that we can use to our advantage.

Adolescence

Lot of parent see this period as a time of rebellion in a children life. The once innocent Emeka is no longer as malleable and compliant as he used to be. But in real sense, the  child is beginning to  notice a lot of changes in both body appearance and hormones. The child at this stage has a lot of unanswered questions like waht do i look like?, am i beautiful?, is it ok if i do this or hangout in some areas?, others may not even ask and will want to explore and get a first hand experience. Some parents may be readily available to provide the answers that the child seeks while others  are not. Then the child begins to look for answers from his peers, and acquaintances. The change in bodily hormones equally pushes the child to explore his body without any prior knowledge of the risk that may be involved. This stage of life provides experiences that charts the part of once life. With a lot of children, it is devoid of responsibilities.

Adulthood

Responsibilities is the second name of the stage of life. In the global village, The official inauguration of human into adulthood is 18 years, although the in the African setting, it goes way beyond that.By this period of your life, you have no one to tell you what to do with your life. You are permitted to decide and take responsibilities for action. You are not excused from your action and there are a lot of expectation being placed on you by the society- caring for yourself, your children and aged parents and becomes a mandate and not an option-before you can be perceived as being a responsible adult
